Armed police were called after reports of a weapon being seen in Dalton.

Officers swooped on an unattended BMW in Harpe Inge at Dalton at around 3.45pm.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the BMW was located and seized. Searches were underway in the area.

BMW towed away

Five police cars and a van descended on Harpe Inge. Then a tow truck came to retrieve the BMW, we’re told.

A spokesman has confirmed that firearms officers responded at 3.45pm to reports of a weapon in a vehicle.
