ARMED police swooped on Greenhead Park after reports of a brawl.

They were joined by police dog handlers and the West Yorkshire Police helicopter after reports of a weapon being used in a large fight.

More than a dozen officers descended on the area at 1.25pm yesterday and tactical response units were seen heading towards the popular family park.

Dog handlers and the West Yorkshire Police helicopter were also called in as officers searched the area for a group of men reported to have been involved in a disturbance.

The park was not sealed off but a heavy police presence was in place as officers hunted for the men.

But the dramatic incident was quickly over after officers found some of the suspects.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman yesterday confirmed two men were arrested in connection with the incident and no-one was injured.

Inquiries are ongoing.
