ARSONISTS may have deliberately targeted a householder by setting a bin on fire.
The man’s door was damaged after fire starters pushed the wheelie bin towards the property on Rowan Avenue in Netherton Moor.
No-one was hurt in the incident, at about 12.50am on Friday.
But police are investigating and have carried out house to house enquiries.
Insp David Glover, of Huddersfield d South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The message we would give out is that any arson, particularly at night when people are asleep and vulnerable, can have potentially catastrophic consequences.”
Police have knocked on doors on Juniper Grove and Spruce Drive as well as Rowan Avenue.
They have handed out leaflets to appeal for information and Insp Glover said patrols would be stepped up.
Anyone with information should call police on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
