A COLLECTION of art work is now on show at Huddersfield Parish Church.

The Huddersfield Co-operative Art Classes work, which includes a variety of landscapes and portraits, will be on show until Friday, November 13.

It is the fourth time the church has hosted the art exhibition, which is organised by artist Betty Thornton who runs the classes.

And Canon Catherine Ogle even has some of her own work on show, including a landscape and two paintings which depict the history of the iconic church.

She said: “The standard of all the entries is really good – it is remarkable what they have achieved.

“The art group is run by Betty Thornton and we developed a friendship some years ago and the group now use the church crypt as their home.

“I did a three month sabbatical earlier this year in art – it’s a great interest of mine.

“We really enjoy hosting this event for the town – it’s great to see the tremendous artistic talent of local people on display at the church.”

The exhibition is open to the public.
