HOLMFIRTH artist Ashley Jackson is set to arrive at a book event in style.
The watercolour artist will be in Doncaster on Thursday to sign copies of his new book called My Yorkshire Sketch Book.
And he will be making a grand entrance – via his very own train.
Ashley named the Yorkshire Artist train at Bradford Interchange Railway Station last October.
The train is decorated with his watercolours in the carriages and toilets.
It aims to bring the beauty of Yorkshire to people who travel on the trains every day.
Ashley will take the train from Brighouse to Doncaster.
He will then attend the town’s Waterstones branch before continuing on to signings in Sheffield and Wakefield.
His book features the original working sketches for some of the paintings displayed within the train.
Ashley said: “It is a small book that I am immensely proud of.
“It holds a collection of sketches that I have chosen from my own personal sketchbook dating back over 50 years.
“I hope that it will inspire others to visit the locations and absorb the stunning surroundings of Yorkshire and the Dales”.
