A NEW bright apple green mobile library has taken to the roads of Huddersfield.
The distinctive addition to Kirklees Libraries mobile fleet is painted with cartoon characters.
And the vehicle also panels depicting enlarged digital photographs of books on shelves - so realistic that passers-by might just be tempted to reach out to make a selection!
The design, like that of the first new mobile, is the creation of library assistant Mark Milne, who combines his part-time post at Batley Library with a successful career as an artist.
The new vehicle is a replacement and maintains the fleet at seven operational mobile libraries and one reserve.
