ARTISTIC pupils throughout Kirklees have created posters designed for family support charity Home- Start Kirklees.

Newsome Junior school Year 5 pupil Alendrine Reid painted the winning design on the theme of Family Life.

She painted a beach scene.

Local sculptor and artist Mick Kirkby-Geddes judged the competition at the North Light Gallery in Armitage Bridge. "Alendrine's design was a winner because it was fun and seemed to sum up family life," he said.

Alendrine received £250 for her school.

Home-Start Kirklees, launched its first poster competition this year, asking pupils to design a piece of artwork based on the Family Life theme.
