A KIRKLEES school is celebrating.
Overthorpe C of E School, Thornhill, has been awarded Artsmark Gold in recognition of their commitment to, and excellence in, arts education.
Headteacher Mrs Thelma Walker said: "I'm delighted that the Arts Council has recognised our school's dynamic arts education programme.
“Children throughout the school have access to high quality arts experiences involving, music, art and design, pottery and drama.
“We have worked in partnership with many talented artists who have helped our children enjoy their learning and discover their personal specialist skills.”
