STAFF were in the pink at Huddersfield's Asda supermarket on Sunday.

Employees at the Bradford Road, Brackenhall, store dressed in pink clothes and wore pink wigs to raise money for Breast Cancer Care's Tickled Pink appeal.

The supermarket has also been selling Breast Cancer Care badges and sent staff to sell raffle tickets at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Fitness First centres in the town.

The draw for the raffle prize - a 5ft Lion King soft toy - was made at Asda on Sunday by members of the Bradford Bulls rugby team.

Huddersfield Asda employee Mary Scholes also took the plunge for the charity on Sunday and completed a 64-length sponsored swim at Huddersfield Sports Centre.

Further cash was raised by members of Asda's cash office team, who held a girl's night in on Saturday .

Judith Alderman, Asda fundraising co-ordinator, said the company supported Tickled Pink every year and raised £2m nationally last year.
