A MAN has been jailed after admitting handling stolen goods.

Ryan Wint, 21, is one of four men connected to a burglary in Newsome.

Although he did not carry out the burglary, his fingerprints were found on a television set discovered at the home he shared with co-accused Nathan Spencer, of Roger Lane, Ashenhurst, Newsome, on September 22.

In April 2008, Wint was sentenced to four years in a Young Offender’s Institute for a robbery offence.

His involvement in the incident puts him breach of his early release licence.

For the handling stolen goods charge Wint was handed a four month prison term, to run concurrently with the remainder of his four year sentence, which will last until January 2012.

Judge Peter Benson said: “You committed this offence while on licence for a previous offence.

“This is a serious matter, especially for someone of your record and it is only right you serve the remainder of that time now.”

Co-accused Spencer admitted the offence at an earlier court hearing. He will be sentenced at the conclusion of court proceedings for two other men involved in the incident.
