PENSIONERS and people on low incomes are being urged to sign up for help to cut heating bills.

They could be in line for cash towards new boilers and insulation.

The £1.5bn Warm Front scheme is the cornerstone of the Government's target to eliminate fuel poverty by installing energy- efficiency measures in vulnerable homes by 2010.

Eligible householders could get up to £2,700.

Applicants should be receiving a disability or income-related benefit and live in their own home or rent it from a private landlord.

A Warm Front spokesman said: "A well-insulated home, with an efficient heating system, can reduce fuel bills all year."

To find out whether you qualify, call the free Warm Front helpline 0800 316 6007, quoting reference MK 858.
