Euan also won individual silver for his score of 62 out of 70.

Mr Smith said: "Shooting is a popular discipline within the Air Training Corps and 59 Squadron has produced many talented marksmen over the years.

"It's good to see the next generation maintaining that tradition."

The squadron trains every Monday and Friday evenings from 7pm to 9pm at the Drill Hall on St Paul's Street near Huddersfield town centre.

It is open to youngsters aged from 13 to 16 and phone 01484 535779 on drill evenings for more details or visit the website www.59atc.org.uk
