A PAIR of boozy thugs tried to rob a man in a town centre pub toilet.

The 37-year-old went to the toilets in the Head of Steam in St George's Square just before 3pm on Friday.

As he entered a man held the door open for him.

Another man then jumped out and grabbed the shocked victim, shoving him against a wall.

The man holding him demanded his wallet as the pair struggled.

The victim took out £20 to appease the two crooks, but the robber gripping the man told him they wanted his wallet.

Eventually the man saw an opportunity to escape and pushed past the two crooks and ran into the bar.

The two robbers then ran out of the pub and into St George's Square.

The first suspect is described as being a white man, in his mid 40s and between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall.

He had a few days worth of stubble and wore a dirty tracksuit top with purple on it and brown boots.

The second suspect is a white man in his late 40s.

He was around 6ft, of medium build and with short brown hair.
