A WOMAN was kicked to the ground in a mugging.

But the 29-year-old victim clung on to her handbag in the street attack in Almondbury.

Police were alerted at 5.40pm on Saturday, after the woman was approached from behind by a man in Fenay Lane, near the junction with Fleminghouse Lane.

He tried to grab the bag from her shoulder. She fell to the ground and was kicked. The attacker ran onto Fleminghouse Lane when a car passed.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises, but managed to keep hold of the bag

The suspect was 5'8"-9" tall, in his early 20s and wearing dark clothing. He wore a hood and also a dark baseball cap and a scarf around his face.
