AN AUCTION has raised cash to help speech- impaired children in Huddersfield.
More than £300 was raised when the Association For All Speech Impaired Children held a social evening at the home of local chairman Heather Brooker at The Ghyll, Fixby.
Prizes were provided by a number of Huddersfield companies. People were invited to make silent bids and the winners were announced on the night.
Among the winners was Helen Haley who won a 6ft cuddly shark.
The proceeds will help to pay for a holiday playscheme.
