AUTHOR Cathy Cassidy shared her secrets with Rastrick pupils.
The writer spoke to girls from Rastrick High School and a group from Longroyde Primary School about writing.
She’s just released a book called Cherry Crush, which the school’s book group has already read.
Cathy spoke to the Rastrick pupils about gathering ideas, situations, conversations and people’s names for her books.
Pauline Laycock of Rastrick High School said: “We are fortunate that Cathy was able to visit RHS.
“She is always in great demand and, as she explained, she has travelled all over the world promoting her books and meeting her readers so, we were really fortunate that Puffin Books were looking for a venue in the north of England and that Sonia Benster from the Children’s Bookshop in Huddersfield said that RHS had a lot of readers who she thought might like to meet Cathy.”
As part of the school’s bid to promote reading, author James Holland will visit the school’s boys in June to talk about his book ‘Duty Calls – Dunkirk’, set during World War Two.
