A HUDDERSFIELD woman has written an historical book about Yorkshire.

Trish Colton from Deighton co-wrote The Knights Templar in Yorkshire with her sister Diane Holloway.

The new book explores what medieval life was like during the Templars’ stay in the county.

They owned more land, property and people in Yorkshire than in any other county in England.

Trish and Diane take the reader on an tour of the 10 major Templar sites established in Yorkshire and reveal what life was like in medieval times.

Trish decided to write the book after surviving her third heart attack two years ago.

Both she and Diane have a life-long interest in history, including that of the Knights Templar.

Trish has two children and a grandchild and has worked in Germany, Bahrain, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa before returning to England in 1986.
