HUDDERSFIELD schoolchildren are being given the chance to show their writing skills in a competition.
The Department of Education and Skills is running the Write Here, Write Now Writing award to encourage children to enjoy writing.
Schools Minister Derek Twigg said: "Learning should be fun. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy writing and be creative."
All entries must be submitted through school and pupils must be aged 8 to 10.
The closing date for the competition is Thursday July 14, 2005.
