A TOP council post will be officially axed, saving £157,000.

Calderdale Council will next week seek approval from cabinet members to formally cut the deputy chief executive’s post from the senior management structure.

The vacant post of deputy chief executive has not been filled and the funding for it was taken as savings as part of the budget approved for 2011/12 and onwards.

Council members will have to reallocate responsibilities and duties to changes in the council’s constitution.
