THE search is on for Huddersfield’s top baby.
Photographers from the John Woods studio are hard at work in the town’s Queensgate Market Hall, taking pictures of entrants in the Examiner’s Baby Of the Year 2009 competition.
Hundreds of youngsters are expected to compete for the title.
There will be smiling babies, laughing babies and, no doubt, one or two on the brink of tears.
Last year’s contest attracted a mammoth entry of 559 babies.
This year’s portraits will be placed in a special supplement in the Examiner.
Readers will be asked to vote by phone for the winner and two runners-up.
The photographers’ studio has been set up on Stalls 10-14 in the Market Hall.
They will be there between 10am and 4pm (not 12.30-1.30pm) from today until Saturday, September 19.
Babies must be aged under three by September 19 and live in the Huddersfield Examiner circulation area.
The winning baby will collect the gleaming Baby Of the Year trophy as well as a 20in x 16in canvas portrait, worth £225.
The two runners-up will each receive 14in x 11in canvas portraits, each worth £160.
