A BABY has been born a month after her father was killed in a motorcycle tragedy.

Doting dad Arnulfo Antonio Castillo Almonte, 21, lived in Crosland Moor.

He met his Huddersfield wife, Roxie, when she flew out to the Dominican Republic where he worked at a hotel.

They married in March 2003 and forged a new life together here with their daughter, Ashanti-Del, who is now 20 months old.

But Arnulfo was killed in a motorbike accident in mid- January after returning to the Dominican Republic to visit his family.

Roxie gave birth to their daughter on what would have been Arnulfo's 22nd birthday.

And she has named her after him - Antonia Arnulfo Michelle Castillo.

Mum and baby are doing fine.

Antonia weighed 6lbs 9oz when she was born.

After the tragedy was first reported in the Examiner, well-wishers rallied round to help Roxie and she has been provided with lots of baby equipment and clothes.

Arnulfo died after swerving to avoid an old man who had stepped out in front of him.

His front wheel hit a pothole, flinging him from the bike and he was killed instantly.

He was buried in his home town of Luperon and Roxie hopes to visit his grave with their two daughters this spring.

Roxie's friend, Niki Trepak, who also lives in Crosland Moor, is trying to rally help.

Fund-raising events are being organised to raise money for the flights.
