ARMED robbers terrified staff during a raid at a Mirfield supermarket.
Two men wearing balaclavas burst into the Lidl store on Station Road at Eastthorpe at 7.45pm last night – just before closing time.
One was armed with a claw hammer while the other carried a type of truncheon known as an Asp.
They threatened staff and customers with the weapons before searching the supermarket’s back office.
They made off with a handbag from the office.
They were both described as white men in their 20s. One is just over 6ft tall and skinny. He wore a balaclava, a shiny black waist-length bomber jacket, blue denim jeans and he spoke with a local accent.
The second man was 5ft 8ins tall, stocky build and wore a dark coat and dark blue denim jeans.
