COLNE Valley Saddle Club is holding a Silver Anniversary Ball at Cedar Court Hotel on Saturday April 2, to celebrate its 25th birthday.

The club was set up for local riders to go along with their horses and ponies and ride together, show jump, do dressage and cross country and to generally be a support for the local `horsey' people.

It has always been self-supporting, and has a lot of members, some local and some not so local.

The Silver Ball has been organised by Julie Armitage, a committee member of the saddle club, to bring together old and new members and to celebrate 25 years of success.

If they manage to raise any funds from the ball, Julie said that the club has agreed that they will invest in some new show jumps.

People are welcome to attend - even if they are not members of the saddle club. The more the merrier! The reception is 7pm to 7.30pm then there will be a four-course dinner followed by live music from the band Joe Public and a disco.

Tickets are at a cost of £35, and people are recommended to book there place soon due to popular demand. Julie has asked that if any old or new members have any photos of past saddle club events, would they be willing to lend them to her for the evening of the ball to add to a display?
