HUDDERSFIELD Giants have thrown their weight behind a safety drive.

The club has backed a campaign to increase awareness of carbon monoxide poisoning - known as the silent killer.

The club's vice-captain Brad Drew (right) joined campaigner Stacey Rodgers (left) to launch balloons highlighting the message at Crowlees School in Mirfield.

Ms Rodgers saw her 10-year- old son Dominic die of carbon monoxide poisoning three years ago.

But last week she teamed up with Kirklees Council and many other organisations to launch the new campaign, with posters on buses and more information for families.

Invisible carbon monoxide can escape from the exhaust of faulty gas appliances and, being heavier than air, can accumulate in the home.
