A BAND including former Huddersfield University student Matt Stiff is in the final three of TV's X Factor talent show.

G4's rendition of Queen's classic Somebody To Love was enough to get them through Saturday's heat.

The four-piece band now line up next Saturday against Tabby and Steve - just one round away from the final.

Manchester singer Rowetta missed out on a semi-final spot on the show as she was voted off the show last Saturday night.

She was the only female solo vocalist left in the competition.

The former Happy Mondays vocalist and the other three contestants on the ITV1 programme had their talents stretched to the limit as they were asked to perform two songs on the evening.

Some three-and-half million votes were cast by the public.
