EMBRACE scored a soccer first last night!
The Brighouse band became the first pop stars to star on Match Of The Day when they previewed their England World Cup song, World At Your Feet.
Lead singer Danny McNamara told presenter Steve Childs it had been a tremendous thrill to meet some of England's 1966 heroes in the run-up to the recording.
He said: "We met Gordon Banks, George Cohen and Jack Charlton.
"They were part of a great team, but so are the England team of 2006".
The band also performed last night at the annual Professional Footballer Association awards ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
Liverpool's Steve Gerrard was voted Player of the Year and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney the Young Player of the Year.
Gerrard topped the poll as voted for by his colleagues ahead of the other five leading candidates - Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, Rooney and Chelsea trio Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry.
Embrace played the song to many of the players who will be making the trip to Germany in June.
The record will be released on Monday, June 5.
