TOYS were presented to the children's ward at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary by HSBC bank staff.

Thirteen members of staff and their families at the bank's Huddersfield branch raised £1,000 by doing the Examiner Charity Challenge walk around Meltham in May this year.

They joined nearly 1,000 walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users in raising a total £40,000 for local charities.

The HSBC agreed to match pound for pound the money raised by its staff.

Presenting toys to the children's ward is (front) Cate Ellis of the HSBC with nursery nurse Donna Carroll, hospital play specialist Karen Foster, (back, from left) paediatric ward clerk, Joan Townend, Apollo ward manager Debbie Dyson and HSBC branch manager Ed Ogden.
