A SUMMER barbecue was the latest in a host of fundraising events to raise cash for a bone marrow charity.

Armitage Sykes Solicitors on New North Road in Huddersfield has pledged to raise money all year for the Anthony Nolan Trust in memory of Examiner journalist Adrian Sudbury who lost a high profile battle against leukaemia last August.

He had undergone a bone marrow transplant as part of his treatment and had brought in huge publicity for the Anthony Nolan Trust.

So far the Armitage Sykes tally stands at around £400.

Past and present employees attended the event.

Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop at Netherton donated the sausages and burgers and the barbecue equipment was provided by Denby Dale-based CR Tool Hire.

Other events have included special lunches, cream teas and raffles.
