STAFF are banking on horse power as part of their fundraising efforts.

Employees of Barclays in Huddersfield used Ollie the horse ridden by employee Emma Longley as part of a national fundraiser.

Emma rode Ollie while carrying the national flag from Huddersfield to Skelmanthorpe in aid of the Laura Crane Trust.

Barclays staff took part in the Flag Fundraising Challenge which involves 2,800 staff from 284 branches carrying four national flags to every branch by any means possible.

The Challenge is expected to raise more than £25,000 once the four flags have visited all 284 branches.

Stuart Ambler, Huddersfield branch manager, said: “We strive to strengthen local communities in which we live and work by supporting a range of causes from local schools to centres for older people.”

The four flags, which started their journeys in Aberdeen, Belfast, Pontefract and Shrewsbury converge in Manchester on July 13.
