A HUDDERSFIELD bar will be raising cash for children's healthcare this weekend.

The Chicago Rock Cafe in Kirkgate is holding a weekend of fundraising for the Echo Trust, a charity set up by the pub's parent company, Luminar Leisure.

Echo - Entertainment Organised for Children's Health - collects money from customers of the entertainment industry and distributes it to children's hospitals or healthcare projects.

Charities apply to Echo for grants and it sends money to those who need it most.

From tomorrow until Monday, Chicago Rock staff will be paying to dress up and donations will be collected from customers.

On Saturday night there will be a prize raffle and a staff `slave' auction. On Sunday, customers will be asked to make a voluntary donation to Echo in exchange for watching local rock band Jagged Edge perform.

The weekend has been dubbed Get Out of the Kitchen Weekend, because celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and actress Jennifer Ellison - who appeared together on TV's Hell's Kitchen - have lent their support to Echo's fundraising campaign.

The pair have agreed to have caricatures of themselves - Gordon as a devil and Jen as an angel - put on promotional material to advertise the Echo fundraising weekends being held at Luminar Leisure venues across the UK.
