HUDDERSFIELD businessman Lawrence Batley left more than £4m in his will.
Mr Batley, who died in August left estate valued at £4,291,065 net.
He left £10,000 for prizes or awards for the Halifax-Huddersfield Senior Golf League Lawrence Batley Trophy.
Mr Batley died at the Nuffield Hospital in Birkby last August after a fall at his home in Gledholt. He was 91.
His daughter, Rita Firth, and her husband Bruce, the deputy chairman of his cash- and-carry company, Batleys plc, were at his bedside.
Mr Batley had been in hospital for three-and-a-half weeks.
He was Huddersfield's most generous patron of sport and the arts, and the town's theatre was named in his honour.
He also left three grandchildren - Simon, Sarah and Rupert - and two great-grandchildren, Thea and Hebe.
