A MOTORCYCLIST from Batley has died in a collision with a lorry in North Yorkshire.

The 25-year-old biker, who has not been named, was on the B6265 in Grassington when he collided with the lorry travelling the opposite way.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was not injured in the crash, which happened at 9.20am on Saturday.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The red and blue Honda motorcycle was in collision with a white heavy goods vehicle on the B6265 Hebden Road between Grassington and the village of Hebden.

“The motorcycle was travelling towards Grassington and the HGV was travelling in the opposite direction, the collision occurred near to a house known locally as Halfway House.”

The road was closed for five hours. Anyone with any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
