YOUNG people in Batley Carr have taken part in a Play Explorers project over the Easter holidays to help research and develop ideas for a new play space in Hyrstlands Park.

They worked with three artists working for Loca, Kirklees Council’s arts and regeneration agency. Children aged eight to 13 were asked to come up with ideas as to how the site could be developed. Activities included mapping and measuring the site, collecting samples of materials and building temporary structures with timber and willow.
