A BATLEY man has been named as the chief executive of one of the world’s leading educational charities.

Dr Graham Clayton will take up his post on February 2, at the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) – a charity dedicated to communicating the science of colour.

Having grown up in Batley, Dr Clayton has worked in the public sector, education, academia, governance, charities and a not-for profit company.

He will now be based at the SDC’s head office in Bradford.

Through the ‘Colour Experience’, the SDC delivers educational workshops to thousands of children and young people every year.

Dr Clayton said: “This role draws together many aspects of my experience that I look forward to utilising for the future greater success of the SDC.”
