A MAN from Batley who died in a three-car smash in Scotland has been named.

Mark Hoare, 22, of Bromley Street, was killed when his Suzuki Swift crashed on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer road on Monday.

The incident happened near Springholm village between Dumfries and Castle Douglas at about 4pm.

Four people from Wigtownshire, who were travelling in a Vauxhall Vectra, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the third car involved, a Vauxhall Astra, escaped unhurt.
