AN ELDERLY woman was helped from her home in Batley after suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
Fire crews were called out to the woman’s home on Fern Close, Batley, at 9.15am on Saturday.
It is believed a pan was left on the stove, which burned and filled her home with smoke.
Crews from Batley and Dewsbury attended.
The elderly woman was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital for a precautionary check-up.
