LONG-SUFFERING Lindley residents may have parking problems solved in a new scheme.

Residents of East Street have complained of problems - made worse when parents are dropping off or collecting children at school.

Now, Kirklees Council has launched consultation about possible solutions.

Highways engineer Liz Twitchett has suggested waiting restrictions on the south side of East Street, which would prohibit vehicles from parking at school entry and leaving times.

This would force drivers to park on the north side.

All the houses on this side which have off-street parking would be provided with white cross markings, which would deter drivers from parking on them.

The council is also planning to introduce five humps to cut the speed of vehicles on George Street.

"No waiting" zones are proposed at George Street, near the junction with Holly Bank Road. Residents are being sent details.
