A HUDDERSFIELD pub could have sound success!

The Bay Horse, New Hey Road, Lindley, was shortlisted for The Publican Music Pub of the Year Award sponsored by the Performing Rights Society (PRS).

The award recognises licensed premises who put on a wide range of musical entertainment, live and recorded, throughout the year.

The Bay Horse holds a variety of music themed nights and live bands.

Steve Pyke, who runs the Bay Horse with wife Clare, has decked the pub out to resemble London’s Marquee Club, Manchester’s Hacienda, and a beach and jungle.

Steve said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted.

“Music is integral to our business and something we’ve worked hard to make sure is first-class so it’s fantastic to get recognition for it.”

PRS ensures musicians and songwriters receive royalties when their music is played in public or broadcasted.

The winner will be announced at The Publican Awards at The Grosvenor hotel, Park Lane, on April 21.

The Publican is the trade magazine for pubs.
