A SKELMANTHORPE nail technician is celebrating reaching the final in a beauty industry competition.

Belinda Price, who owns the Nailspa salon, has been shortlisted for a Nail Professional of the Year award in this year’s highly acclaimed British Beauty & Spa Awards.

She is one of only six nail technicians to have reached the final of the contest, which was launched by Health & Beauty Salon magazine to reward innovation and excellence throughout the industry.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, said: “Dedication and commitment to excellence has been shown by every finalist.

“All finalists represent the best the beauty industry has to offer in their chosen area of skill, whether it is body therapy, facial therapy, customer care, marketing or retailing.

“Success in this market is not only determined by practical skills, but also by business acumen and the British Beauty & Spa Awards are designed to reward and recognise both.

“To achieve finalist status in the awards is a tremendous accolade to Belinda.”

Judging for the awards is over two days, during which a panel of industry experts will study dossiers of the finalists’ work.

The winner will be announced at an Oscar-style awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on September 7.

Belinda said she is delighted to be named a finalist. She said: “This year has been an incredible one for the salon.

“To be recognised among your peers as being one of the country’s leading technicians is both a wonderful feeling and a great achievement. It also gives both our team and clients a real buzz.”
