TOWN'S promotion push has a lovely new supporter.

Miss England, Hammasa Kohistani, will be getting behind the Terriers on Saturday as they do battle against Barnsley.

She is making a personal appearance at the Galpharm Stadium this coming Saturday to make the Golden Gamble half-time draw.

She said: "This will be the first time I have been to the Galpharm Stadium and I would like to wish Huddersfield Town all the best this season in their push for promotion.

"They are going very well in the League this season and I wish them all the best for the future."

A refugee from Afghanistan with British citizenship, she now proudly wears the crown of Miss England and is busy building cultural bridges in her adopted country.

She represented England in the Miss World competition held in China in December 2006 and has helped raise money for the Pakistan earthquake appeal, and many other causes, thanks to her well-deserved "regal" status.

The coming Halifax and Huddersfield heats of the next Miss England competition culminate in the final at Jumping Jacks in Halifax on Wednesday, June 14.
