BEREAVED families are being invited to help decorate a Christmas tree in memory of their children.

A special service is being held at Calderdale Royal Hospital to give parents and relatives the chance to remember their dead babies and children.

They will be invited to write a personal message on a star and hang it on the remembrance tree in memory of loved ones.

Hospital chaplain Judith Satchell said: “In past years the service has provided a great sense of comfort to families and we welcome families who have lost a child at birth, during pregnancy or infancy.

Refreshments will be provided after the service and families will have the chance to meet others.

The service is this Sunday (December 2). Those unable to attend but would like a personal message to be hung should contact the hospital on 01422 224125 between 2pm to 5pm.
