PLANS to improve car parking at Colne Valley Museum in Golcar are to be discussed.

Kirklees councillors are looking at a £43,000 plan to improve the car park at nearby Golcar Cricket Club so it can be used by museum visitors.

The idea will be discussed at the next meeting of the council's Colne Valley Area Committee on Thursday, November 4.

The possibility of contributing to Christmas lights and decorations throughout the valley will also be looked at.

And there will be a debate about suggestions for a games area in the Dirker area of Marsden, which could be used for different sports.

All local residents are invited to the meeting, which will be at 7.30pm in the Colne Valley Leisure Centre, Slaithwaite.
