COURT action is being taken to evict travellers from a Huddersfield playing field.
More than a dozen families of travellers have set up camp on the Reinwood recreation ground, off New Hey Road.
The travellers have a number of caravans, cars and vans on the site, which up until last week was being used for local soccer matches.
The fields are just yards from the police station at Oakes.
A Kirklees Council spokesman said: “We are aware that travellers are on the recreation ground.
“We have made an application to Huddersfield County Court to move them on and a hearing is planned for tomorrow”.
