A WOMAN has urged people to keep phoning the police about a gang of yobs in Waterloo.

The woman, who asked not to be named, said the teenagers have been making life a misery for people living in the area since the start of the year.

She urged people who fall victim to them to keep phoning the police in the hope that something will be done to curb their unruly behaviour.

The woman said: "I feel it's about time other areas of Huddersfield were made aware of the torment and anti-social behaviour we are made to put up with on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis.

"I'm only in my mid-20s, but feel old when I see the behaviour attitude of these youngsters. It is a totally different generation."

She claimed the group has pulled down phone lines, thrown stones through house windows, verbally abused people and thrown eggs at homes.

"It is the same group of youngsters each time and everyone who lives around here knows who they are," she said.

She said the police had been contacted and patrols seemed to have been stepped up in the area since Saturday.

She added: "I would urge people to complain to the police every time they are targeted by this group, so eventually action will have to be taken against them."
