IT’S Olympic Promise Child Holly’s big day tomorrow.

That’s because seven-year-old Holly Holt Ramsay from Shepley will be one of a select few special guest children at the Paralympics opening ceremony.

Holly, who attends Shepley First School, was born on December 20, 2004, which was declared ‘2012 Day’ by London 2012 chairman Lord Coe.

Every British child born on that day was invited to several Olympic and Paralympic events as part of the Olympics Children’s Promise scheme.

So far Holly has met Seb Coe and 1992 Olympics gold medallist Sally Gunnell.

She’s been to see the Olympic Stadium being built and in June joined boxer Nicola Adams on the Olympic Torch parade in Sheffield.

Nicola, whose dad and stepmum Verna live in Marsh, went on to become the first British female boxer to bring home the gold.

Holly’s dad Andrew, 47, said: “It’s been brilliant for her.

“When she met Nicola Adams in Sheffield and watched her go on to win the gold was the best.

“She’s looking forward to the Paralympic ceremony and seeing South African Olympian and Paralympian Oscar Pistorius”.
