TOWN fans are some of the most generous in the country.

Huddersfield supporters are in the last 16 in a friendly contest aimed at bringing some happiness to the war-torn former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia by sending team shirts.

The Send Shirts to Skopje Cup tots up how many shirts have come from the fans of each team.

The strips will be handed out to the disabled and disadvantaged in the shattered country. Some 1,500 shirts have already been collected in England.

Huddersfield beat Halifax to get through to the final 16, which includes teams like Chelsea, Leeds United and Manchester United.

Ultimately, the England victors will take on the winners in Scotland to determine the British champions.

The competition is being organised by the Yorkshire Building Society.

Shirts can be handed in at any of their branches.
