A CHARITY which provides free counselling for bereaved parents in Kirklees has been overwhelmed by the response to its new leaflets.

The Kate and Daniel Trust received lottery cash to have a new information leaflet designed and printed.

The Huddersfield-based charity has sent the leaflets to GPs' surgeries, churches, social services and other organisations in the last two weeks.

Lynne Burns, project co-ordinator for the Trust, said: "The response has been overwhelming and we are receiving daily requests to send out more.

"The loss of a child is the worst bereavement that anyone can experience and we hope that by publicising our services no-one will have to suffer this loss on their own just because they didn't know we existed."

The Trust, which has been providing support since June 2000, is named in memory of two cousins who died within six months in 1995.

It provides free one-to- one and couple counsell- ing from its bases in Huddersfield and Dewsbury and through home visits. It also organises group support meetings.
