A YOUNG trials biker from Lower Denby is already heading for big things.

Eight-year-old Jack Price (pictured) came first in the first round of the D class (7-9 year olds) small wheel section at the British Championships.

The event was at Pontypool, south Wales.

In all, 57 riders attended the C and D class championship.

The youngster has been riding trial bikes for only two years and is a member of Huddersfield Falcons and Barnsley Motorcycle clubs.

Proud mum Dawn Price said: "I'm really pleased, absolutely thrilled. He's such a determined little boy."

Jack rides a Gas Gas 50 bike but likes pushbike pedal power too.

Trials riders have to negotiate a flagged course incorporating natural obstacles such as streams, rocks, inclines and descents.
