CONVOYS of charity bikers roared off to the Yorkshire Dales from Huddersfield at the weekend.

About 120 bikers cruised along country lanes on the trip to Sedbergh on Sunday and raised more than £1,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

"It was a great family day out," said organiser Dick Cartwright, owner of DC Motorcycles in Alder Street, Fartown. "It was a cracking day, both for the weather and the roads."

The journey began with bacon butties before the riders headed off via Skipton.

Riders from all over Yorkshire took part in the event, paying £5 for entry. More money was made in a raffle and through collections.
