RESIDENTS at a sheltered housing complex took part in a community fun day.

The residents at Birkby Croft, Birkby, were joined by guests including Kirklees Mayor Clr Eric Firth and local councillors Mohal Sokhal and Judith Hughes.

The event included a Tai Chi session – with the Mayor joining those taking part – as well as Wii games, soup, sandwiches and cakes.

A raffle raised £75 which was split between Kirkwood Hospice at Dalton and the West Yorkshire Forget me Not Trust.

The event was organised by Agewell Kirklees, Huddersfield Soroptimists and the Birkby Croft residents group management committee.

It was also supported by Sunwood House care home and a group of students from Fartown High School.
